Householder consents
Purpose
The nature of planning proposals is that, depending upon the scale and location, some are subject to permitted development rights under the 1995 General Permitted Development Order (GPDO) while others require full planning permission. This module outlines both consent regimes for householder proposals.
Benefits
Household applications and issues form the largest single category of proposal dealt with by the planning system.
Audience
Urban and regional planners and all those wishing to build and assess their knowledge of the topic.
Learning method
The wide range of possible changes and permutations of different kinds of household proposal means that this knowledge builder can only be an introduction to the topic. The Further Reading section highlights some essential references for further information. Includes voluntary self assessment for recording continuous professional development (CPD).
