Area Action Plans
Purpose
This module focuses on Area Action Plans i.e. types of development plan documents that provide a detailed planning framework for a specified local area subject to significant or rapid change or conservation.
Benefits
This module explains the operation and use of Area Action Plans as part of the modernised system of spatial planning in England. The use of Area Action Plans is an essential part of the suite of mechanisms in England that was introduced in 2004 and that is set out in PPS 12: Local Spatial Planning. It is therefore central to contemporary spatial planning policy and practice.
